Growths

Growths can appear below your skin or on the surface of your skin. Most growths can be classified either as a mole or a cyst and are predominantly benign and harmless. Moles or nevi are very common and almost everyone has a couple. If your doctor decides to remove a mole he/she will excise, shave, or punch biopsy the mole. Most moles are left untreated because they are harmless. Cysts are sac-like growths that are filled with a white/brown material. They can appear all over the body and may be removed by your dermatologist. In order to remove a cyst the doctor will need to excise it.
