Eczema

eczemaEczema or atopic dermatitis is a chronic itchy, inflammatory condition of the skin. When present in children, it often shows up as an itchy rash in the creases of the knees, elbows, wrists, buttocks, and sometimes scalp. Eczema can sometimes be passed from generation to generation. It is present in people that have hay fever and sometimes different types of food allergies.

There is no cure for eczema; however there are different ways to prevent the dermatitis from getting worse. This plan often includes medications, changing your lifestyle, and different types of skin care. The treatment plan will be tailored to each patient depending on how severe their dermatitis may be.
